Aiming to update advanced technological trends and expand international cooperation in the energy sector, the Board of Directors of My Phuong Company attended the ENERtec Asia 2026 Exhibition, held from June 3 to 5, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is one of Southeast Asia’s premier specialized events, gathering over 1,000 brands alongside tens of thousands of experts, enterprises, and investors operating in the energy, power, and technology industries.

Throughout the exhibition, the My Phuong delegation had the opportunity to tour the pavilions, exchange insights, and explore prominent industry trends. These included the energy transition, artificial intelligence (AI), battery energy storage systems (BESS), data centers, smart grids, as well as backup power solutions and modern electrical infrastructure currently deployed worldwide.

Notably, the business trip provided an excellent opportunity for My Phuong’s Board of Directors to meet and work directly with Eaton—a strategic partner and global leader in power management technology, which My Phuong currently distributes and develops in the Vietnamese market. Both parties discussed strategic development directions for the upcoming phase, aligned on new technologies and product lines, and explored numerous collaborative opportunities to deliver optimal solutions that meet growing customer demands.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN), in collaboration with the Japan Electric Power Information Center (JEPIC), recently organized a specialized seminar titled “Next-Generation Power Grids: Applications of Smart Maintenance, Digital Substations, and HVDC Transmission Technology.” The seminar took place over two days, March 3–4, in Hanoi.

This year’s seminar focused on key technological trends of next-generation power grids. Representatives of EVN presented an overview of the current status of Vietnam’s power system. Experts from JEPIC, Kansai Transmission and Distribution Company, and Chubu Electric Power Grid Company shared their experiences in the development and operation of HVDC transmission technology, modern transmission infrastructure, data-driven smart maintenance applications, as well as digital substation solutions and innovative initiatives implemented by Chubu Electric Power Grid Company.

According to Mr. Ta Tuan Anh – Deputy Head of the Technical and Safety Department of EVN, Vietnam’s power system is entering a new development phase with increasingly high requirements for reliability, flexibility, and adaptability, especially as the system continues to expand in scale and the share of renewable energy increases. The development of next-generation power grids is an inevitable requirement to enhance proactive control capabilities, enable real-time monitoring, prevent potential risks, and ensure national energy security.

According to Mr. Ta Tuan Anh, the three key technology pillars discussed at the seminar—HVDC, smart maintenance, and digital substations—play a crucial role in modernizing the power grid and promoting EVN’s digital transformation.

At the seminar, experts engaged in open discussions and addressed numerous questions from participants, helping clarify practical challenges in the implementation of next-generation power grid technologies.

As part of the program, the JEPIC expert delegation also conducted a site visit to Bac Ninh Power Company and the 110kV Que Vo Substation to exchange experiences in the operation of distribution power grids.

This activity is part of the annual cooperation program between EVN and JEPIC, which has been continuously maintained since 1998.
Through 25 specialized seminars with the participation of nearly 120 Japanese experts, both sides have exchanged a wide range of practical insights on technology, operation management, system reliability enhancement, and digital transformation in the power sector.

On November 23, 2024, Binh Dinh Power Company successfully conducted the field acceptance test of the FLISR function on the 22kV power grid in the central area of Quy Nhon City.

The FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration) function is an automation system feature designed to automatically detect faults, isolate the affected section from the rest of the system, and restore service to unaffected areas, thereby minimizing the outage area. The components of FLISR include: fault information acquisition, fault location, fault isolation, and service restoration functions.

Testing the FLISR function with a simulated fault scenario on feeder 476QNH2.

To carry out the acceptance of the FLISR/DAS function on the actual 22kV power grid of Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Power Company had proactively coordinated with My Phuong Trading Co., Ltd. to provide operational training on the Survalent SCADA system for the teams involved in power system operation.
At the same time, they developed detailed plans and test scenarios, coordinated with the contractor to inspect and handle communication channels, addressed potential abnormal conditions before and during the testing process, and reviewed the relay settings of Reclosers and LBS devices to support the tests.
They also ensured the SCADA communication links connecting to three 110kV substations via the EVNCPC dedicated telecommunication system, as well as the remote-controlled devices on the 22kV grid, currently using services from the FPT network provider. According to the FLISR field acceptance plan, the acceptance committee will evaluate the Survalent SCADA/DMS software to ensure it meets the operational requirements for the existing devices on the power grid.
This includes four simulated fault scenarios across 12 feeders (22kV) from three 110kV substations: Quy Nhon 2, Quy Nhon Port, and Dong Da, involving 45 devices, including feeder circuit breakers, Reclosers, and LBS-C units along the distribution lines. The field test results show that this function operates stably, efficiently, and reliably, achieving a 100% accuracy rate in generating the correct restoration scenarios for all four simulated fault cases on the 22kV power grid in the area.

Binh Dinh Power Company is the first unit within EVNCPC to successfully implement and operate the FLISR function of the Survalent software in real-world conditions, based on the SCADA system data parameters of ATS. This serves as a foundation for the technical staff of Binh Dinh Power Company to continue researching and mastering distribution grid automation technology in Binh Dinh Province in the coming time, contributing to the digital transformation, promoting the application of science and technology in operations, reducing outage duration for customers, and enhancing the reliability of power supply as well as customer satisfaction.
