220 kV Phu Ly Substation (Ha Nam Province)
220 kV Kim Dong Substation (Hung Yen Province)
500 kV Thuong Tin Substation (Hanoi)
220 kV Ba Che Substation (Thanh Hoa Province)
220 kV Bim Son Substation (Thanh Hoa Province)
- Implementation period: 2017
In July 2017, My Phuong Company supplied six 110 kV capacitor banks manufactured by Eaton’s Cooper for the project “Installation of shunt capacitor banks on the Northern power transmission grid,” which is invested by EVNNPT and directly managed by PTC1.
The capacitor banks, manufactured by Eaton’s Cooper—an electrical equipment manufacturer with more than 80 years of experience—use lead-free EX-7L capacitor units with a rated voltage of 15 kV and a capacity of 565 kVAr. Each bank consists of a total of 132 units, corresponding to 74.5 MVAr per bank.
The commissioning of the capacitor bank contributes to maintaining transmission grid voltage in the Northern region within permissible limits, meeting the increasing power demand of critical loads. It also enhances the stability of power supply, reduces power and energy losses, and thereby improves the operational and business efficiency of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
