On May 21, 2026, My Phuong Trading Co., Ltd. (MPCo) successfully completed the acceptance testing and energization of the 110kV, 50MVAr capacitor bank at Ba Thien 220kV Substation, under Package No. 3: Supply and Transportation of Primary Materials and Equipment, invested by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
The project was implemented on schedule, fully meeting the stringent technical requirements of the power transmission grid system, contributing to improved operational quality and voltage stability at key substations.

The capacitor bank system is manufactured by Eaton’s Cooper, a world-leading brand with over 80 years of experience in electrical equipment. It uses EX-7Li internally fused capacitor units, with a rated voltage of 15kV and a capacity of 565kVAr each, totaling 120 units for the 50MVAr capacitor bank.
The commissioning of the capacitor bank system helps to:
- Improve reactive power compensation capability for the transmission system
- Stabilize voltage and reduce power losses on the grid
- Improve operational efficiency for 220kV substations
- Ensure reliable power supply for key load areas
Thereby contributing to improved operational efficiency of the national power transmission grid and meeting the socio-economic development needs of localities.
