At 00:25 on October 31, 2024, the 110kV, 50MVAr capacitor bank at Nghi Son 220kV Substation (Thanh Hoa Province), under Package 16VT.SCL2024: Repair and Replacement of Capacitor Banks and Shunt Reactors, was successfully accepted and energized.

My Phuong Company, in collaboration with the contractor – Vietnam Technical Development Co., Ltd. (VTD), successfully energized at 00:25 on October 31, 2024 the 110kV, 50MVAr capacitor bank installed at Nghi Son 220kV Substation.
The capacitor bank uses EX-7Li internally fused capacitor units, with a rated voltage of 15kV and a capacity of 565 kVAr per unit, totaling 120 units. The equipment is manufactured by Eaton’s Cooper, a company with over 80 years of experience in electrical equipment manufacturing.
After being put into operation, the Nghi Son 220kV Substation will help maintain voltage levels within the permissible limits of the Northern power transmission grid. It will meet the growing electricity demand of key loads in the region, enhance the stability of power supply, reduce power and energy losses in the system, and thereby improve the operational efficiency and business performance of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
