On April 1, 2014, MPCo successfully won Bid Package No. 2: Procurement of capacitor switch-disconnectors and control units (Phase 1, 2014) under the project “Procurement of Power Grid Equipment – Phase 1, 2014” of EVN SPC.
The project includes 424 sets of capacitor switch-disconnectors manufactured by Hubbell Power Systems, supplied to 18 power companies under EVN Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC). The total contract value exceeds VND 16 billion, funded by EVNSPC’s investment capital in 2014.

MPCo completed the delivery of all equipment in July 2014, ensuring full compliance with EVN SPC’s technical standards. In addition, the company organized a training program and provided installation and operation guidance for staff of the power companies on September 10, 2014.
During the training course, participants were instructed on how to use software to configure and retrieve operating parameters from the control cabinets, thereby improving operational efficiency, ensuring safety and accuracy. The program also provided basic skills in programming and device operation to help reduce power losses in the distribution network.

Continuing the success, in November 2014, EVN SPC signed an expansion contract with MPCo to supply an additional 225 sets of capacitor switch-disconnectors from Hubbell Power Systems for Phase 1 of 2015, further ensuring stable and efficient operation of the Southern power grid.

The equipment and training provided by MPCo have enhanced grid reliability, ensured safe operation, and improved energy efficiency, contributing to better management and operation of capacitor bank systems across the Southern region.
